I have been a hairstylist since 2012, my two favorite services are hair color transformations and babies first haircuts. The thing I love most about my career is it's never boring, my day is filled with a mix of kids haircuts, men's/women's haircuts and colors. If I were to narrow it down and give myself a specialty I'd say its haircuts for people with sensory needs. As an autistic person myself I believe it sets me apart from a lot of stylists, I have the understanding of what too much stimulation feels like or not wanting to look in a mirror during a haircut or even just small talk being so exhausting it causes home haircuts.
Aside from my career I'm married to one of the best guys on the planet and together we have three teenage daughters. On my days off I do school with the girls, do lots of thrift shopping and run a small home business selling the treasures I've found. I'm an awkward person, kind of quiet, and reserved so if you're ever in my chair and I'm not talking don't take it personal I get focused on hair and forget there's a person attached to it sometimes.
My future goal is to win the lottery so I could open up a bunch of family salons geared for people with special needs and hire educators to train each stylist on how to better serve these clients.
